Scouting in Delaware has a long history, from the 1910s to the present day, serving thousands of youth in programs that suit the environment in which they live. In the Boy Scouts of America, the state of Delaware is entirely within the Del-Mar-Va Council. ==Early history (1910-1950)==
In 1914, the Wilmington Council (#081) was formed, changing its name to the Wilmington Area Council (#081) in 1931. In 1923, the Eastern Shore Council (#221) was formed, merging into the Wilmington Council (#081) in 1924. In 1936 the Wilmington Area Council changed its name to the Del-Mar-Va Council (#081).〔 In the early 1920s, there were several camps named Rodney in the Delmarva area. However, the current Rodney Scout Reservation was established in 1921.
